Cairo, Egypt´s capital, is the largest city in Africa. The majority of Egypt´s inhabitants live in Cairo and neighbouring towns and cities along the banks of the Nile. Much of the land away from the Nile forms part of the Sahara Desert, and is sparsely poplulated. Egypt receives the least rainfall of any country in the world.
The Red Sea Riviera is a stunning coastline with an array of real estate bargains offering a superb selection of sea view properties and cheap villas. Hurghada, for example, was once a small fishing village which was rarely visited, but is now a fantastic location and a very popular place to purchase property. Alexandria, known as "the pearl of the Mediterranean", is the second largest Egyptian city with many houses and apartments built near stunning beaches. Luxor has easy access to many wondrous sites, and the popular resort of Sharm el Sheikh offers the simplicity of sun and sea with many off plan developments due to the recent massive increase in building.
